Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
What we collect, why, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. We follow the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG) and, for visitors in the EU or EEA, the GDPR.
1. Who is responsible
seowebstar, Trittligasse 24, 8001 Zürich, Switzerland, is responsible for processing your personal data on this website. Contact for privacy requests: support@seowebstar.com.
2. What we collect and why
2.1 When you visit the site
Our web server records technical data in log files: IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and device type, and referring page. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix faults. Basis: our legitimate interest (nDSG; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept for up to 30 days.
2.2 When you send the review request or contact form
Name, email, phone (optional), company (optional), website address (optional), the services you tick and your message. We use it to reply and to prepare the review. Basis: your request and consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). We keep it for up to 12 months after the last contact, unless it becomes part of a contract.
2.3 When you place an order
Name, email, phone (optional), company, billing address, optional UID or VAT number, the website address to optimise, the items ordered and the order reference. We use it to perform the contract, invoice you, send your order confirmation and kickoff email, and meet our legal duties. Basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation. We keep accounting records for ten years, as required by Swiss law.
2.3.1 Stored order records
When you place an order, our server saves an order record as a file. It holds the data listed in 2.3 and the order total. We keep it to fulfil the contract, answer questions about your order, issue invoices and meet Swiss bookkeeping duties. Basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation. We keep order records for ten years, the same period as accounting records. Access is restricted to the people who handle orders, and the files are not publicly accessible.
2.4 Payment
We do not store card details. While checkout runs in test mode, card data stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere. When live payments are enabled, card details are entered with our payment provider and we receive only the result and a reference.
2.5 Analytics (only with your consent)
If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. It records page views, approximate location, device and browser and how you reached the site, using cookies. Google may process this data in the United States or other countries. We load Google Analytics only after you agree. If you reject, or do not choose, it does not load.
2.6 Saved cart and your choice
Your cart, your last order summary and your cookie choice are stored in your browser’s local storage so they persist between pages. They stay on your device. The order itself is sent to us only when you place it, as described in 2.3.
2.7 Email delivery
Order confirmations, kickoff emails and form replies are sent from our web server using PHP mail. Messages travel through our hosting provider’s mail system and your email provider. The email contains the data you gave us for that order or request.
3. Who receives your data
- Our hosting provider, who processes site and form data on our behalf.
- Our email service, which carries messages we send and receive.
- Google, for analytics, only with your consent.
- Our payment provider, once live payments are enabled.
- Authorities, if we are legally required to disclose data.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.
4. Transfers abroad
If data goes to a country without an adequate level of data protection (for example, the United States for Google Analytics), we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or the provider’s certification under the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where available, and on your consent for analytics.
5. How long we keep data
Server logs: up to 30 days. Enquiries: up to 12 months after the last contact. Orders, stored order records and invoices: ten years. Analytics data: as set in our Google Analytics account, 14 months. Consent record: 12 months, then we ask again.
6. Your rights
You may ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a copy in a portable format, and you may object to processing or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to support@seowebstar.com. We reply within 30 days. You may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch) or, if you are in the EU or EEA, to your local data protection authority.
7. Security
The site uses HTTPS. Forms are validated and protected against spam. Access to your data is limited to the people who need it.
8. Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you using automated processing.
9. Children
This site is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
